What is Datamosher Pro?
Datamosher Pro is a specialized video editing application designed to manipulate video compression data to create unique, "glitch art" aesthetics. Unlike standard editors that focus on clean transitions, Datamosher Pro intentionally corrupts the motion vectors and frame data (I-frames and P-frames) of a video. This results in the signature "melting" or "warping" effects known as datamoshing, allowing creators to produce psychedelic, avant-garde visuals directly from their mobile devices.
Version Comparison
Datamosher Pro is available in two distinct versions to suit different creative needs and budgets:
Free Version
The Free Version is designed for users who want to explore the world of datamoshing without any upfront cost. It includes:
Ads: Includes advertisements within the app interface.Ā
Essential Modes: Access to the two primary datamosh engines:
Automosh: An automated glitching algorithm for trendy cuts.
Classic: The traditional datamoshing method based on frame-repetition and delta-frame manipulation.
Glide & Repetition modes can be unlocked by viewing an ad, Manual mode is not included.
Watermark: Exported videos will include a Datamosher Pro watermark.
Premium Version
The Premium Version is the complete toolkit for professional artists and enthusiasts looking for full creative control.
All Modes Unlocked: Full access to advanced glitching algorithms beyond the basic engines.
No Export Watermark: Export clean, high-quality videos without the app logo
Ad-Free Experience: A streamlined, distraction-free interface for a better workflow.
Lifetime Value: A one-time payment grants you permanent access to all features and all future updates.

Automosh Mode
This is the most automated mode. It scans your video and applies glitches at random or rhythmic intervals. It "kills" the frames that usually resets the video image, causing the motion to smear automatically.
Options:
Kill Frame Size: Think of this as the "Glitch Intensity." Lower values make the glitches more frequent and chaotic.
Keep Original Audio: A simple switch to decide if you want to keep the original sound or let the processing glitch it too.
Quality: Choose between Low, Medium, or High. Higher quality looks sharper but takes longer to process.
BEST FOR: Beginners who want a quick, "cool" trendy datamosh effect without manual tweaking.Ā
Classic Mode
This mode targets I-frames ļ¼the frames that tell the video to start a fresh sceneļ¼. By removing them, the motion from the first scene gets "stuck" and applied to the colors of the second scene.
Options:
Effect Range: Use the slider to pick the exact start and end time where you want the glitch to happen.
Delta Range: Controls how "heavy" the motion vectors are. Increasing this makes the pixels stretch and smear more aggressively. Takes longer to render.
GOP Value: Short for Group of Pictures. A higher number makes the glitch last longer before the video naturally "fixes" itself.
Quality: Choose between Low, Medium, or High. Higher quality looks sharper but takes longer to process.
BEST FOR: Creating the famous "scene transition" glitch where one person's movement turns into another scene.Ā
Glide Mode
Instead of just smearing, Glide mode forces pixels to continuously "drift" based on the motion in the video. It creates a smoother, more "fluid" glitch than Classic mode.Ā
Options:
Glide Value: Controls the speed of the "melt." Higher values will make the pixels slide across the screen faster.
Quality: Choose between Low, Medium, or High. Higher quality looks sharper but takes longer to process.
BEST FOR: Creating a "melting" or "liquid" look where the video seems to slide away.Ā
Repetition Mode
This mode takes a small chunk of video and repeats it over and over. Because the video data is missing the "reset" instructions, the motion builds up on top of itself, creating a vibrating or echoing visual.Ā
Frame Range: Pick the specific slice of frames (e.g., frames 100 to 120) that you want to loop.
Delta Value: Controls how many frames the app skips during each repetition loop.
GOP Value: Determines how often the video tries to recover its original image.
Quality: Choose between Low, Medium, or High. Higher quality looks sharper but takes longer to process.
BEST FOR: Creating rhythmic, stuttering glitches that look like a broken DVD or a "stuck" video stream.Ā
Manual Mode
This mode gives you a frame-by-frame editor. You can see every individual frame n your video and decide exactly what to do with it (copy/delete)Ā
Delete Frame: Removing a frame causes a "motion jump" where the pixels from the previous frame try to fill in the gap.
Duplicate Frame: Copying a frame makes the image "freeze/melt" while the motion data from the original video continues to flow underneath.
Multi-select: Select a whole group of frames to delete or copy at once.
Undo/Redo: A safety net that lets you experiment and go back if you don't like a specific glitch.
GOP Value: Determines how often the video tries to recover its original image.
Quality: Choose between Low, Medium, or High. Higher quality looks sharper but takes longer to process.
BEST FOR: Advanced users who want total control over every single "glitch" moment.Ā
